Boskapel (Chapel)

In 1789, the year of the French Revolution, a statue of Our Lady hung against a thick pine tree. Fearing French acts of violence, the statue was transferred to the church. According to legend, however, the next morning it hung against the tree again. The site of the miracle became a place of worship favoured by pilgrims.

The tree chapel was replaced by a stone chapel in 1875: the Boskapel or Wuytskapel. There are seven iron uprights in the chapel's garden depicting the joys and sorrows of St Joseph. Between 1888 and 1904, remains from the Roman period were found during excavations.
