Lille is synonymous with cyclo-cross and therefore also its festive version, Krawatencross! This combination between top sport and a popular festival is organised by 'De Moedige Supporters' (The Courageous Supporters) with the support of more than 300 volunteers and a dozen associations from Lille and its surroundings.
You can train in the Kempen all year round, including on the signposted route in Lichtaart, and for two days you can even come and try your luck on the actual Krawatencross course.
The Krawatencross has provided cyclo-cross champions for several generations such as the Lille world champions Paul Herygers, Erwin Vervecken, Wout van Aert and Sanne Cant.
