The 'In Stormen Sterk' grain windmill

This mill is a stone-built ground-sailer, of the external-rotor type. The sails are raised from the ground floor and set to the wind from the outside using a winding mechanism. With a span of 26.5 metres, it's one of the largest mills in the country.

To get from the field to the baker, grain travels a long way. The millers of In Stormen Sterk let you experience why this is necessary and how it is done with all your senses. Come see, feel, smell, hear, taste, and immerse yourself in an ancient but fascinating world. Afterwards, that sandwich, roll or baguette taste even better!

The volunteer millers open the In Stormen Sterk mill to visitors and enthusiastically share info about the mill and the process of grinding grain.
