When?
Last Sunday of August
Where?
The Rolleken, at the foot of the E34 bridge in Lille
What?
A strange tree used to stand at the foot of the bridge over the E34 motorway and the Rolleken: 'Den Heksenboom', or the Witches' Tree. Because of its exceptional location, some curious stories were linked to this tree. Although there is now only a commemorative stone to remind us of the tree, it is still considered important enough to dedicate a celebration to it. During the Witches' Tree Celebrations, there's a real children's witch walk and lots of other activities.
